Bio

Lorenzo Giovannetti

My research interests are in Ancient Philosophy, particularly Plato, ancient metaphysics, and theories of language. I have also worked on Plato’s conception of mimesis and theatre. I extensively utilize a lexicological approach and have delved into Plato’s use of verbs of vision (verba videndi) and the vocabulary of experience. My first monograph, ‘Eidos and Dynamis’ (available in Open Access below), received recognition of excellence from the International Plato Society. Additionally, I possess competence in Early Analytic Philosophy, Semantic Externalism, and debates concerning Realism and Anti-realism.
